, a 6-year-old Carolina Dog mix with a movie star smile that he happily shares with everyone he meets! This handsome boy sports a soft golden caramel coat accented with creamy white, like he’s been dotted with marshmallow fluff, and finished off with the cutest little curly-Q tail. Sadly, Pio was owner surrendered when his family welcomed a new baby, and now he’s searching for a forever home where he can share his big, loving heart again. He may be a bit cautious at first after losing the only family he’s known, but with a little patience, he warms up beautifully and forms a deep, loyal bond. Pio is well-mannered and easy to love - he walks wonderfully on leash, is potty trained, and likely knows commands like sit and shake. He’s also done well with calm dogs his size, so he could make a great companion to another pup while he settles into his next chapter! Will you help write the rest of this sweet boy’s happily ever after?

-6 year old tan Carolina Dog mix

-60 pound neutered male

-may need the standard round of shots and preventatives before he can go home with you, but the shelter can likely help with this!

-came to the Baldwin Park Animal Care Center on 6/8/26 as an owner surrender - sadly, Pio was left at the shelter when his family had a new baby and could no longer give him the care or attention he deserves

-a bit hesitant at the shelter, but with slow intros, he warms up beautifully and you can see all he wants to do is reconnect with a furever family

-could be a good pup brother to other dogs you may have, as long as they are calm and roughly the same size

-very well trained and well mannered, making him an easy fit in a wide range of households
