Harriet is a playful, energetic girl with a sweet personality and just the right amount of sass! She's an independent little lady who enjoys doing her own thing, but she still has moments when she wants attention from her favorite people. Sometimes that means coming over for pets or a quick hug and giving a couple of kisses in return. Other times, she might give your pant leg a little tug with her mouth to let you know she'd like you to pay attention to her. She has her own funny ways of showing affection!
Harriet is doing well with her crate training and goes right in when asked, especially if there's a treat involved. She settles in quietly while her people are away and generally keeps her crate clean. When left loose in the house, she can get into mischief if something catches her eye, and stuffed toys are definitely not safe from her playful destruction! She loves toys, chew toys, and playing tug-of-war with her brother, Ozzy. She's also happy to entertain herself with a toy when she's in the mood.
Harriet has a big love for the outdoors and enjoys spending time in the backyard. An active family who likes to spend time outside and give her plenty of things to do would be a great fit. She is still working through some uncertainty about the leash, so leash training will take patience and time. It took her a couple of weeks to feel comfortable going outside on a tie-out, and she currently may need to be carried when she needs to go somewhere on a leash. She hasn't been ready for walks just yet, but with a patient family willing to work at her pace, she can continue building confidence.
Harriet has lived with several dogs of different sizes, including her brother Ozzy, two small resident dogs, and other dogs in her foster home. She has done well with them, and she clearly enjoys playing with Ozzy. She could potentially enjoy having another friendly dog in her new home, though she may also be happy as the only dog with a family who gives her plenty of attention.
Harriet can be wary of new people and will bark at strangers while she figures them out. She needs time to feel comfortable and would do best with a family who understands that trust isn't built overnight. Once she settles in, her playful and sweet personality has a chance to shine.
Harriet is looking for a patient, active home that will let her blossom at her own pace, keep her busy, and enjoy plenty of backyard time together. She may be a little sassy, a little mischievous, and not the biggest cuddle bug, but she has a personality all her own and so much potential to become a wonderful companion!
