Nova Aria - Cane Corso and Mixed Breed Dog for Adoption in New York, New York

Meet Nova, our 90-pound cuddle machine with a heart as big as her personality! Rescued from the roof of a building in the Bronx, this special girl has shown incredible resilience and love. True to her breed, Nova is intelligent, loyal, eager to please, loving, and has a strong personality. She's fully housebroken, snores like a trucker, and is missing a few teeth on the side of her mouth, so her tongue sticks out all day. (It's very charming). Nova gets along with docile male dogs her size, but would also be happy as an only pet. She's a strong girl and still pulls a little on-leash, but isn't reactive to dogs or people. Consistency and some basic training will go a long way with Nova; she's a smart girl and picks up on things quickly. If you're looking for a one-of-a-kind companion, apply today to bring Nova home.

All dogs will be altered, microchipped, and receive age-appropriate vaccines prior to adoption. Please note that the listed location for this dog may not be accurate due to technical limitations of this database and we have transportation options available within 6 hours of NYC (so don't let location hold you back)!

The Cane Corso, known for its muscular build and imposing presence, is a formidable yet loyal Italian mastiff breed. With origins tracing back to ancient Roman times, these powerful dogs were initially used for hunting, guarding, and protection. Today, they are beloved family companions, displaying a calm and affectionate temperament towards their owners. The Cane Corso's distinctive appearance, intelligence, and protective instincts make them popular choices for experienced dog owners seeking a devoted yet vigilant companion.

The mixed breed dogs, often referred to as mutts, are a diverse and unique group with a blend of different characteristics from various purebred dog breeds. These dogs come from a mixture of lineages, resulting in a wide range of sizes, coat types, and temperaments. While each mixed breed dog is distinct in its own right, they are known for their resilience, adaptability, and often have fewer health issues compared to purebred dogs due to their genetic diversity. Mixed breed dogs make wonderful companions for families looking for a loyal and one-of-a-kind pet.
