Oria - Beagle and Mixed Breed Dog for Adoption in New York, New York

Meet Oria

Oria is a beautiful girl who was abandoned at a time when she needed her family most.

When Oria tested positive for heartworm, a preventable and treatable condition, her owner decided they did not want to give her the time she needed to heal and recover. Instead, Oria was left behind at the veterinarian's office.

We cannot imagine how confusing that must have been for her. One moment she had a family, and the next she was being left behind simply because she became sick.

But Oria was not going to be forgotten.

We made her a promise: her diagnosis would not determine her future. She would get the care, time, and love she needed, and when she was ready, we would help her find the life she always deserved.

Oria deserves so much more than the person who walked away from her. She deserves someone who will see her beautiful heart, stand by her through the difficult moments, and love her for all the days ahead.

Her past may have changed her story, but it does not define who she is.

We promised Oria a better life. Now we are looking for the family who will help us keep that promise.

Please consider opening your heart and home to this beautiful girl. Oria deserves to know what it feels like to be chosen, cherished, and never abandoned again.

Please remember that adoption bios are only a snapshot of each animal. They are meant to give you a glimpse into their personality and story, but there is so much more to learn. The Beagle is a beloved breed known for its friendly nature, curious personality, and distinctive howl. These small to medium sized dogs are incredibly sociable and get along well with both humans and other pets. Beagles are curious and energetic, always eager to follow a scent with their incredible sense of smell, making them excellent hunting and tracking dogs. Their short coat is easy to maintain, and they are adaptable to various living environments, making them popular companions for families and individuals alike.

The mixed breed dogs, often referred to as mutts, are a diverse and unique group with a blend of different characteristics from various purebred dog breeds. These dogs come from a mixture of lineages, resulting in a wide range of sizes, coat types, and temperaments. While each mixed breed dog is distinct in its own right, they are known for their resilience, adaptability, and often have fewer health issues compared to purebred dogs due to their genetic diversity. Mixed breed dogs make wonderful companions for families looking for a loyal and one-of-a-kind pet.
