Kirk may be only 8 pounds, but he has apparently decided that qualifies him for command. This 7-year-old scruffy terrier mix came into rescue with his friends Spock and McCoy, and of the three, Kirk is definitely the one most likely to have already made the plan.
He's got the scruffy good looks to match the attitude, along with a confidence that says he's perfectly comfortable taking the lead. While Spock is busy contemplating the universe and McCoy is presumably assessing everyone's medical status, Kirk has things moving along. Somebody has to run the ship.
There is something pretty charming about a little dog who knows his own mind. Kirk isn't interested in being overlooked simply because he's small. He has plenty of personality packed into those 8 pounds, and he's ready to find people who appreciate a dog with a little leadership experience.
His namesake famously went where no one had gone before. Kirk seems more than willing to do the same, although we're guessing his preferred destinations involve a cozy home, a soft place to nap, and people who understand that 8 pounds of terrier can generate considerably more than 8 pounds of opinion.
Kirk is neutered, microchipped, up to date on vaccines, and negative for heartworm and tick disease on his 4DX test. He's ready to leave his rescue crew behind and begin the next adventure with a family of his own.
You don't have to be ready to boldly go where no one has gone before. Kirk would be perfectly happy to boldly go wherever his people are.
