Meet Peanut — The Sweetest Old Soul You’ll Ever Meet
Peanut is currently being fostered in the Houston, Texas area, but please don’t let geography close your heart. Transport is easy, fast, and safe — what matters most is that Peanut is seen, and that the right person chooses him. And if you happen to be in Houston… even better.
If you’re looking for a pup who can make you smile just by existing, say hello to Peanut — a ridiculously adorable 1‑year‑old Briard x Irish Wolfhound mix with a face that could stop traffic and a personality to match.
At 103 pounds, he’s the perfect size for adventure days, car rides, couch cuddles, and everything in between. His coat is a gorgeous blend of cream and cinnamon — the kind of fur that makes strangers stop and say, “Oh my gosh, look at him!” And yes… he knows he’s handsome.
Peanut is a true People Lover. He rides beautifully in the car (you’ll forget he’s even there), walks well on a leash, and is gentle with his paws. He’s a smart boy with a soft heart. The only thing that rattles him is when dogs come charging toward him — he just needs a moment of reassurance.
He is wonderfully people‑friendly, pet‑friendly, and family‑friendly. He’s house trained, bright as a whip, and his love language is leaning into you for pets, scratches, and full‑body hugs.
His ideal home includes at least one other friendly dog to help him feel secure. A fenced‑in yard would be a dream. But more than anything, Peanut wants someone who is home often and ready to love him back.
With a medium energy level and a naturally sweet temperament, Peanut is ready to be someone’s loyal, loving companion for life.
If you’re looking for a happy, affectionate, hug‑giving best friend, Peanut is your guy.
Peanut Is:
Good on a leash and not dog‑reactive
Super sweet with all dogs and people
A gentle leaner — he melts into pets like they’re oxygen
Joyful in that quiet, healing way only special dogs have
Peanut would be a perfect family dog or the best friend a single person could ever hope for. He is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and ready for the life he’s always deserved.
What Peanut needs now is not another stop along the way.
He needs his person.
His place.
His forever.
Because a dog this good should never be forgotten again.
If you believe some souls are meant to find each other…
Peanut is waiting.

Understanding transport: Once everything is all approved, dogs are scheduled on transport using AJC Rescue & Transport (https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100083418067425). Transport means dogs are carefully and thoughtfully moved via scheduled air conditioned/heated vans from our doggy ranch in Fulshear, TX to a location near you. Each transport consists of a team of two drivers who can alternate. This is how we communicate in real time. The driver who is not driving, will be updating the group chat. You will be included in this group chat to track your dog through transport. You will also be given exact location and scheduled time of arrival. Our drivers do everything possible to run on-time however, things such as traffic, weather etc. can affect arrival time. You will updated regarding delays or possible early arrival. Keep in mind, dogs on transport stop for bathroom, walk and food breaks. For safety, all dogs are crated during transport.
We use what we think is the best dog transport service in the region and have for years - Andrea and her crew really offer first class transport!
