On a warm, windy street in Texas, a little dog named Rocco wanders with no real idea where he’s going.
Rocco is a bit of a mystery—even to himself.
“Ok… I know I need a trip to the salon,” he sighs as he fluffs his scruffy fur and studies his reflection in a puddle. “Any offers?”
He’s probably a Maltese mix… though something a little bigger clearly joined the party, because Rocco stands proudly at sixteen pounds, fully grown at about two to three years old.
But whatever Rocco doesn’t know about his past doesn’t matter much.
What matters is finding his way home.
Rocco has a very special talent:
He is an expert at loving people.
If someone sits—Rocco is there.
If someone stands—Rocco follows.
If someone walks into another room—Rocco is already halfway there.
“Hangin’ with my human,” he says with a wagging tail, “is my favorite activity.”
After wandering far too long, Rocco eventually finds himself at a cozy home filled with other dogs.
There are beds everywhere—soft beds, fluffy beds, squeaky beds.
But Rocco makes his choice immediately.
Right beside his foster mom.
Every night, he curls up quietly and sleeps straight through until morning…
and every morning, he wakes up ready to play again.
“Now this feels like home,” he thinks.
Rocco gets along just fine with the other dogs—there are plenty of them—but if you ask him what he loves most?
He’d whisper,
“You.”
There is just one thing Rocco doesn’t like:
Crates.
“No thank you,” he says politely. “I’m a good boy. I can stay home just fine on my own.”
And it’s true.
Rocco doesn’t need much.
Just a little space…
a soft bed…
and someone to love.
The people who find Rocco take wonderful care of him. They make sure he is healthy, strong, and ready for his next adventure.
“Fully vetted!” they say proudly.
“Heartworm negative!”
Rocco doesn’t know what any of that means…
but he knows it means he’s ready.
Ready to find his forever home.
Sometimes, Rocco sits by the window and dreams.
“Maybe they’re in Texas…” he wonders.
“Or maybe they’re far away… and I’ll have to travel to find them.”
But wherever they are, Rocco knows one thing for sure:
When he finds them…
He will follow them from room to room,
sleep quietly by their side,
and cover them in puppy kisses.
And so the little dog with the big heart waits patiently…
wagging his tail,
watching the door,
loving with everything he has…
until one day—
someone says,
“Rocco… you’re home.”
The End.

Understanding transport: Once everything is all approved, dogs are scheduled on transport using AJC Rescue & Transport (https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100083418067425). Transport means dogs are carefully and thoughtfully moved via scheduled air conditioned/heated vans from our doggy ranch in Fulshear, TX to a location near you. Each transport consists of a team of two drivers who can alternate. This is how we communicate in real time. The driver who is not driving, will be updating the group chat. You will be included in this group chat to track your dog through transport. You will also be given exact location and scheduled time of arrival. Our drivers do everything possible to run on-time however, things such as traffic, weather etc. can affect arrival time. You will updated regarding delays or possible early arrival. Keep in mind, dogs on transport stop for bathroom, walk and food breaks. For safety, all dogs are crated during transport.
We use what we think is the best dog transport service in the region and have for years - Andrea and her crew really offer first class transport!
