Nolan is an approximately 10-month-old Boxer mix with an adorable face, a sweet personality, wonderful household manners, and a heart full of love!

Nolan’s story is one of second chances and a very special rescue.

Just minutes before his scheduled euthanasia at a Houston city shelter, Nolan’s life took an incredible turn. A dedicated shelter volunteer saw something special in this sweet boy and stepped up to save his life by fostering him.

That very same volunteer is now Nolan’s foster mom!

Instead of spending his final moments in a shelter, Nolan is experiencing the love and comfort of a foster home, where he continues to show everyone what an amazing family companion he can be.

And this handsome boy has SO much going for him!

* Dog-friendly: Nolan enjoys the company of other dogs and has a sweet, submissive personality. He does wonderfully sharing toys, treats, and food. However, he certainly wouldn’t mind being the only dog in the home if that meant getting ALL the love and attention to himself!

* Almost completely house-trained: Nolan is approximately 90% house-trained! His foster mom is a nurse who works long hours, so he would benefit from a family that can provide more frequent potty breaks.

* Kennel-trained: Nolan understands his kennel routine, although he would much rather spend time with his favorite humans!

* Leash manners: Nolan enjoys going for walks and does especially well wearing a harness. He is continuing to improve his leash manners.

* Excellent car companion: Nolan rides beautifully in the car and would make a wonderful adventure buddy!

* Kid-friendly: Nolan does well with children! As with any playful puppy, supervision around toddlers is recommended.

* Water lover: This boy absolutely LOVES water!

* Professional cuddle buddy: Nolan absolutely loves to snuggle on the couch with his foster mom! Whether it’s curling up beside you for a nap or binge-watching Netflix together, this affectionate boy is happiest when he’s close to his people. He has the perfect balance of playful puppy energy and sweet, laid-back cuddle time!

At just 10 months old, Nolan already has so many wonderful qualities families look for in a companion. He has the playful personality of a puppy combined with an excellent foundation of training.
