10/26/26-Meeka Day 8...she is doing so great. Leash training good no pulling, up to a 3 mile walk. Eating well and finally enjoying a treat.Slimming down which she needed to do. Loves people and children. Learning to be tolerant of hyperactivity of resident dog Bentley. She will make a family very happy.

10/21/26-Meeka also has a 2 bumps the vet will be removing during her spay surgery. One on her left ear & other on her right hind leg.

10/20/26-Meeka Day 3...this girl is doing amazing. Learning so much. Eating much better, first ice cream tonight. Follows me everywhere. Gaining confidence daily good with adults and children. Still decompressing, but gaining leaps. Still socializing slowly with resident dog, alone together they do great it’s a work in progress. Right now she is a shy girl with strangers . More to come. She’s a beauty & with bath and fish oil her coat is shining.

10/19/26-Meeka went to the vet today. Unfortunately her vet is detecting a possible grade 4 heart murmur (out of 6). She also thinks she may be in heat or have a possible infection & is Lyme positive (tick borne infection, not contagious to other pets or people). She will be starting antibiotics to clear up the lyme. Due to all of this the vet will not spay her now until Tuesday November 17th to be the safest for Meeka’s health.

10/18/26-Meeka is a beautiful 4 year old reversed/sealed brindle boxer that came in today from a small breeder that was downsizing. She is a littermate to Gracie who came in today too. They came from the same place as Ruby, Riley & Zeus (all recently adopted) & they were all sweet dogs. The breeding dogs were not kept in the house so he will need time to adjust. Welcome Meeka to SCBR you are beautiful and loved. She has enjoyed a bath, New pretty collar , leash and special treats. More to come , vet checkup & shots tomorrow, & spay on Tuesday 10/20. Once she is spayed & we get to know her better she will be ready for her new home.
