DESCRIPTION

Hello! My name is Frank...but my friends call me Frankie Doodle. I'm a distinguished gentleman of 7 years, and I recently celebrated my birthday (I'm a Gemini). I'm looking for a forever home where any kids are at least 6. A fence would be great too, but if you're willing to work with me on leash skills it's not required. I'm less "frat boy energy" and more "retired grandpa who enjoys snacks, naps, and quietly judging your life choices from his blanket nest on the floor." (What's a couch anyway?)
I'm a svelte 24 pounds of pure charm. My foster family keeps calling me a "good boy," which is nice because...well...I obviously am. I'm also newly retired from the puppy mill life, and let me tell you...being a spoiled house dog is WAY better.
Here's what you should know about living with me...
I'm easygoing. I've only lived with kids ages 12 and up so far, but my foster mom says I'm so chill she wouldn't be surprised if I did just fine with younger kiddos too - so we'll say 6+ should be fine
I love other dogs. I currently live with two Boston Terrier ladies who have been showing me the ropes. They've taught me that houses are pretty awesome, naps are better when everyone piles together, and sunny spots are prime real estate. They share their soft blankets, belly rubbers, sunbeams, and kind humans. Life is sweet.
I'm more of a "stop and smell the roses" kind of guy. My favorite hobbies include leisurely strolls around the block, supervising whatever you're doing, and professional-level napping.
Now, I do have a couple of other things you should know about. My foster Mom thinks I have a little hearing loss, so sometimes I don't hear you the first time. Honestly? It's a pretty convenient excuse. I also have a little facial droop on one side that just gives me extra character. My back legs also point outward a bit, which gives me a unique little strut. They work just fine, and a vet had checked me out and said it's nothing that needs treatment
I am also still learning stairs and perfecting my house training. Going up? No problem. Coming down? Let's just say I like to take my sweet time. A home with fewer stairs or a human able to carry me would be best. I'm getting the hang of house training, so my foster family is helping me practice with a belly band while I learn. I sleep best in my kennel and I wake up dry - see, I'm a good boy.
One thing you should know about me: I believe communication is important in every healthy relationship. My opinions are important, and occasionally I like to share them with the neighborhood - so the rescue says I'm too vocal for apartments or other housing with shared walls.
If you're looking for a loyal little shadow, a world-class cuddle buddy, and a sweet gentleman who's discovering just how wonderful life can be, I think we should meet.
Love,
Frankie Doodle
