My name is Kelsey. I am 4 years old and weigh 20 pounds. I need a new home because I am a breeder release. I am being fostered in Omaha, NE.

I really love other dogs so if you have another friendly dog at home I would be so happy! I love being outside and playing with my foster siblings in the grass. I impress my foster parents each day with how fast I learn new things and pick up on routine. I have discovered how fun playing with toys is and can spend hours playing but then I'm ready to cuddle up on the couch and snooze a while. I also recently found out how delicious cheese is so if you need someone to share your cheese with then I am your girl. I'm learning to trust people & each day with my foster family I have grown braver and more trusting.

I get along with dogs and cats
I would rather not be kenneled for long amounts of time but I'm learning that it's okay to have a safe space
I need patience and understanding while I keep learning how fun being a dog who is loved is

Housetrained:? working on it
Leash-trained:? no, so far I won't walk on a leash but I'm okay having it on while we explore the yard together
Rides well in car:? yep, I'm very content to ride with you
Good with other dogs?: I adore other dogs. Having another dog at home would be ideal for me
Good with cats:? yep, cats are cool
Good with young children:? not yet tested
Good with strangers:? okay but I'll get better as I get braver
Shy or confident:? a little of both
Barks:? doesn't react to other dogs but occasionally has a cute & quiet howl if I hear a noise like a fire truck
Apartment qualified:? no, I don't walk on a leash yet
Any Special needs or Health Issues:? I have an old hematoma in my ear that the vet says can't be fixed. If you keep my ear clean and dry I should hopefully avoid any future ear infections. I have a little calcium deposit on my eye because I don't always close my eye all the way while I sleep, but eye drops help and I don't mind receiving them. Avg cost $5 a month

All our dogs are spayed/neutered (if six months and older), up to date on rabies and distemper, heartworm tested, and microchipped. Other medical needs diagnosed while in foster care are also treated prior to adoption.

MABTR requires a fenced in area from families who own their home, however we DO adopt to apartment complexes and communities where fences are not permitted due to leases and covenants. In these cases a leash law must be enforced. We do not accept invisible fencing.

MABTR only adopts to families residing in NE, CO, MO, KS, IA, WY, SD, ND, ID, UT, MT, MN, and NW AR due to the lack of volunteer support in other states, no exception even if you are willing to drive.
