Meet Jax – a handsome 3-year-old Border Collie weighing just 30 pounds! This sweet boy made the long trip from Texas after his owner made the difficult decision to find him a better fit when life circumstances changed. Now Jax is looking for a forever family who understands and appreciates the amazing Border Collie personality.



Jax's foster mom is completely smitten with him — and it's easy to see why! He has that classic Border Collie intelligence and awareness where nothing gets past him, balanced perfectly with a softer side that loves cuddling on the couch after a day of activity.



He is housebroken, crate trained, and does well with other dogs, although he is definitely people-focused and would be perfectly happy as your one-and-only pup. Every person Jax meets instantly becomes his best friend. One of his cutest habits is gently “hugging” your leg while looking up at you with those soulful eyes that will absolutely melt your heart.



Jax is currently working on his leash manners. Like many Border Collies, he notices everything happening around him and gets excited to check it all out. He's smart and eager to learn, so continued training will go a long way.



Because of his herding instincts, a home with children over 12 would likely be best. He also needs an active home committed to giving him both mental and physical exercise. A 6-foot fenced yard and/or plenty of daily activity is important for this energetic boy. Border Collies thrive when they have a “job,” and Jax is no exception!
