Dottie and her stuffed animals

Dottie is a 4-month-old Border Collie mix with bright blue eyes and a tail that's always going. She's sweet, very friendly, and not a barker.

She loves stuffed animals and bounces when she plays with them. At night she sleeps in the crate with her sister. She's been around kids and lots of dogs and is friendly with all of them.

Dottie would love a family with kids and a yard, where she can be part of everything and go everywhere with them.

How adoption works:
Memphis has far more stray dogs than homes, and our rescue exists to bring dogs out of the South to families in the Northeast and Midwest. Our dogs travel with a professional pet transport service. Dogs adopted to the Northeast leave every Friday morning and are picked up Friday evening at stops in Virginia, Maryland, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, New York, Connecticut, Rhode Island and Maine.

Adoption fee: $525
Transport fee: $185
