Beautiful Nellie is a 2-yr old, 45# Border Collie that is the definition of the breed. She's moderately active and enjoys the occasional run, is up for sniffy walks anytime, and will happily entertain herself (and YOU!) playing with just about any toy. She has an amazing off switch (always ready to cuddle!), is smart and engaged with her person. She is looking for a family that will love her as much as she loves them!
Through her foster program, Nellie dipped her toe in a variety of dog sports. She reminds us of that one kid in every high school - the one that's good at everything she tries! She is neutral to humans and dogs while out in public. True to her breed, trust us when we say she notices everything. She simply asks that you get to know her before trying to pet her or get too close. She needs time to feel comfortable with new friends. For this reason, an adult-only home is right for her.
Nellie is available for adoption through the Iowa State University's ACE Project, where students foster dogs under supervision by a professor in Animal Science. More information, including her adoption fee, is available through Cheryl Morris at clmorris@iastate.edu

(HOABCR is NOT accepting applications for Nellie. We hope our network can help her find the perfect home!)
