Hi there! I’m Buddy, a 2-year-old, 26-pound Border Collie/Aussie-ish mix. Trust me when I say that to know me is to love me. If you’re looking for a sweet, joyful, energetic best pal who comes with plenty of enthusiasm and ready to give kisses, you found him. I'm also rather cute!

People are my favorite things, followed by playing with other dogs, toys, treats, and attention. I’m an active guy with a nice “off switch” - while I’m always up for an adventure, I also know how to settle down and enjoy quality cuddle time. In fact, I’m pretty sure I was born to be a lap dog. Just call me Snuggle Buddy!

I’d love an active home with people that will keep my brain and my body active: anything you do, I’m happy to join. Spending time together is what matters most. A fenced yard would be wonderful, and I’d be thrilled to have a canine sibling. That said, I could also be perfectly happy as your one-and-only. I would be ok with school-aged kids that are dog-savvy and always supervised when we're together, but no kitties please!

I’m housebroken, walk nicely on leash, and ride quietly in the car while crated. Speaking of my crate, it’s not exactly my first choice of destinations, but I’ll happily settle in for some down time. I’ve met lots of adults, including the team at the vet who gave me an excellent report card! I’m great with other dogs, bikes, and everyday sights and sounds.

Right now, I’m working on basic obedience skills and boy do I love it. I’m super smart, toy- and treat-motivated, and I really, really want to please my people. Learning is totally my jam. I will alert you to visitors approaching, which means I will be best in a single family home. I’m easy to live with, and ready to be your very best friend.

I can’t wait to meet my new family and embark on our life together. I will make them laugh every day and wonder how they ever lived without me.

You can Foster-to-Adopt Buddy too! HOABCR provides everything Buddy needs (food, medical care, supplies, etc.) during a 3-week period of getting to know him. It costs nothing and provides a great opportunity to get to know a dog before adopting. Use the same application as referenced above.

Buddy is located in Eau Claire, WI. His adoption fee is $450 + MN sales tax. He is neutered, microchipped and up to date on age-appropriate vaccines. Upon adoption, all of our dogs go to their new homes with a collar and harness, leash, starter food, blanket, favorite toys & treats. They are current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention.

As a foster-based rescue, we do not have a central facility to visit. Meet and greets with specific dogs are arranged once your adoption application (not an inquiry through Petfinder) has been received, processed, and approved. We are located in Minnesota and adopt to an area 400 miles from Minneapolis/St. Paul.
