Suki - Border Collie and Labrador Retriever Dog for Adoption in Hilton, New York

Meet Suki! At 9 years old, this beautiful white border collie/lab mix has perfected the art of being a loving, low-key companion. Suki is sweet, easygoing, and happiest with a little routine, a cozy place to nap, and plenty of love.

She came to us after her loving owner fell ill. He and his family reached out to us in hopes of finding her a safe place to land for her golden years, and we are committed to finding her just that! She has been well cared for and loved for her whole life, and is adjusting well to her new routine.

She’s house-trained, crate-trained, and walks beautifully on leash: no pulling and no barking at other dogs on her walks. She enjoys a gentle stroll of about 20 minutes, but shorter walks are best because she has arthritis and muscle loss in her right hind leg. Her legs may visibly shake, and she takes daily glucosamine and Rimadyl (a canine NSAID) to support her comfort.

Suki currently lives happily with kids ages 10 and 13. She hasn’t been around younger children, so that’s still unknown. She has lived with another dog, but a very energetic pup who gets in her face isn’t her style. She’d likely be happiest as an only dog or with a calm, respectful canine companion. She lived with three cats in her former home, and did well with all of them. She has not been exposed to cats since coming to North Paw, though.

One of Suki’s favorite places? Her crate. The door can be open, and she’ll often choose it herself for a peaceful nap.

Suki's adoption fee is $300! This adoption fee includes: her alter, a microchip, her rabies, bordetella, and age appropriate DAPP vaccines, flea/heartworm preventative, and a deworming treatment while in foster care.
