Callie - Border Collie Dog for Adoption in Hilton, New York

Callie is a 6 year old border collie looking for a forever home to call her own. Callie came to us from a fam (puppy mill) where she lived outside and was used for two things in life: protecting the farm and pumping out puppies. She's now retired from motherhood and looking for a quiet household.

Callie, somewhat atypically for her breed, is generally quiet and even a bit timid at times but that's not surprising for a dog who spent 6 years being bred! Since coming into foster care, she has learned to love the good life as a companion animal instead of a producer. She loves to get pets and to cuddle with her humans. When her foster mom goes out to yard work Callie likes to supervise and hang out the whole time. Her foster mom reports that when Callie walks around her ears flop and bounce and it's extremely adorable.

She's potty and crate trained and even goes into her kennel on her own sometimes just to hang out in a safe, quiet space.

One of Callies other favorite activities is watching the world go by while she looks out the window. Her favorite snacks are hot dogs, and she has recently learned about pup cups on a hot summer day, too. This girl will probably learn commands quickly if hot dogs are on the menu!

She would do best in a home without young children. She is not being fostered in a home with other animals, but has been ok with patient dogs that she has met. A low-key doggy housemate would be ok for this girl.

Callie's adoption fee is $500! This adoption fee includes: her alter, a microchip, her rabies, bordetella, and age appropriate DAPP vaccines, flea/heartworm preventative, and a deworming treatment while in foster care.
