Chihuahua Dogs Available for Adoption in Hilton, New York

The chihuahuas rescued from a hoarding situation earlier this spring are beginning to search for their forever homes. Abby Cadabby is one of those chihuahua mixes. She is approximately 2 years old.

When she came to North Paw, Abby wasn't really sure how to socialize with people yet. The 4 resident dogs in her foster home have been helping show her the ropes and making sure she knows that sometimes humans can be pretty great.

Since her arrival in her foster home, Abby has become a champion snuggler. She loves to “talk” to her people and tell them it's time for a break but what she really wants is for them to sit down so she can climb into a lap. At only 8 pounds, Abby is an ideal small companion. She fits nicely on laps and loves to stay on them for hours of relaxation. It's good for her and for her people.

Abby has already made huge strides compared to where she was when she first entered her foster home. She is working on potty training still but once she has a bit more reassurance that outside isn’t so scary she’ll be able to graduate from her current consistent indoor pee pad use to being fully housebroken.

Understandably, Abby is still somewhat skittish. The resident dogs in her foster home help with that and we think a patient fur sibling in her forever home would likely help as well. What she needs most of all is a home with someone (or more than one someone) patient and understanding to help her acclimate to her new surroundings and to continue acclimating to the good life.

Abby Cadabby's adoption fee is $600! This adoption fee includes: her alter, a microchip, her rabies, bordetella, and age appropriate DAPP vaccines, flea/heartworm preventative, and a deworming treatment while in foster care.
