DESCRIPTION
Meet Georgia O’Keefe, a four month old black mouth cur mix who was brought to the Bakersfield shelter as a stray. This little lady is still finding her voice, but there is so much sweetness and depth underneath her shy exterior. Georgia likely came from a scary situation and is still learning how to trust people, but every day she is getting a little braver.
Georgia truly comes alive around other dogs. Their presence gives her confidence and she happily follows their lead, playing gently and staying affectionate. On her own, she tends to shut down and get frightened, so we know the very best home for her includes a confident canine companion who can show her the ropes and help her keep building her courage. Watching her blossom in the company of other dogs is a beautiful thing, and she deserves a family who can offer her that steady support system.
Gentle, affectionate, and never in the way, Georgia is a puppy who gives love quietly and asks for patience in return. She is fully vaccinated and her adoption fee will cover her upcoming spay appointment. If you have a confident dog at home and room in your heart for a shy girl ready to bloom, Georgia O’Keefe would love to meet you.
ABOUT: BLACK MOUTH CUR DOG BREED
The Black Mouth Cur is a versatile and intelligent hunting dog known for its strong work ethic and loyalty. Originating in the southern United States, these medium to large sized dogs are muscular and athletic. Their distinctive feature is the black mask on their muzzle, giving them their name. Black Mouth Curs excel in various tasks such as hunting, herding, and guarding, making them ideal companions for active families looking for a versatile and devoted canine.
The mixed breed dogs, often referred to as mutts, are a diverse and unique group with a blend of different characteristics from various purebred dog breeds. These dogs come from a mixture of lineages, resulting in a wide range of sizes, coat types, and temperaments. While each mixed breed dog is distinct in its own right, they are known for their resilience, adaptability, and often have fewer health issues compared to purebred dogs due to their genetic diversity. Mixed breed dogs make wonderful companions for families looking for a loyal and one-of-a-kind pet.
