Hansel is a sweet, gentle boy who may be a little shy when meeting new people, but once he warms up, his wonderful personality starts to shine. He’s the kind of dog who enjoys doing his own thing, quietly exploring the world around him and taking everything in at his own pace.

While Hansel has a calm and independent side, he also has playful moments and enjoys getting energetic while playing with other dogs. So far, he has only been introduced to female dogs and has done well with them.

Hansel is kennel trained and loves having soft blankets and pillows to curl up with after a day of adventures. He’s also a fan of chew toys and happily keeps himself entertained. Bath time? No problem for this handsome guy… he handles it like a champ!

Hansel would thrive in a patient, loving home that would give him the time and space to continue building confidence and feeling safe. Once he trusts you, you’ll have a loyal companion who is equal parts sweet, curious, and lovable. 🐾

*We coordinate with multiple transport services that operate weekly to Eastern states and bi-weekly or monthly to Western states from Texas to your state or a neighboring state. These are ground transports using third party vehicles (vans/buses) converted for dog transport. Each adopter has the ability to track the van using the app Life360, and receives updates from transport along the way. Facebook chats are another resource to stay informed on tracking dogs on transport. Please be able to use one of these available services if you wish to follow your adopted dog on transport.

*Our adoption fees are based on the vetting we put into each dog. Fees for puppies (under 12 months) are higher because they require more vetting than dogs over 1 year.

*Listed breed and age are based on a best guess estimation by rescue and veterinary staff; DNA tests are not included in adoption.

*Our adopters are eligible to receive 50% off training with Curbed Behaviors Dog Training for programs booked within 30 days of adoption, and 25% off programs booked within 60-90 days of adoption.

*All of our adopters are invited to join our “Alum Pupdates” Facebook group, to share their story and their adorable pup with fellow Sunnyside Street Dogs adopters!
