Meet Jansen
At just 18 months old, Jansen has already experienced more hardship than any dog should. But despite everything he's been through, his heart remains full of hope.
Jansen is a young Black Lab mix who once belonged to someone, but instead of having the safety of a fenced yard or a family watching over him, he was left to roam the streets. Sadly, his journey led him into the path of a car, leaving him with significant injuries to his legs. Despite everything he's been through, Jansen has never lost his gentle spirit.
Today, he's healing beautifully, has been neutered, and is ready to find the forever family he's always deserved.
Jansen is the definition of sweet and easygoing. He has a calm, laid-back personality and gets along wonderfully with dogs, cats, and children. He truly loves everyone he meets. He can be a little shy at first and may briefly cower, as if he's expecting to be hurt again, hinting at a past that wasn't always kind. But give him just a little patience, and you'll see how quickly he learns to trust. Before long, he's leaning in for pets, wagging his tail, and reminding you just how resilient a dog's heart can be.
Jansen knows the odds are stacked against him. Black dogs are often overlooked in shelters and rescues, and right now he's still wearing the scars of the life he's survived. But those scars don't define him—they tell the story of a survivor with an incredible heart.

Jansen's adoption fee is $300. He is neutered, up-to-date on vaccinations, heartworm tested, microchipped, and current on monthly flea, tick, and heartworm prevention. He'll go home with a collar, leash, food, toys, and bowls to help him settle into his new life. As always, his adoption fee is tax-deductible and helps us continue rescuing dogs just like Jansen.
