Millie is a 60 lb. incredibly friendly, silly, loving girl who adores people, including children. She’s wonderful with humans of all ages and genders and has never shown aggression toward a person.
Millie was rescued from rural Mexico, along with one of her puppies. We love this girl deeply, and have to give her up due the fact that she and her daughter (her daughter who is now fully grown) are not getting along. The vet said that it's not uncommon in female dogs who are spayed. We have made the decision to re-home her and we want her new owners to know and enjoy the funny, affectionate Millie that we know.
Millie loves to play and run! If you like the beach or trail runs, she would love it! She needs to be on a leash while on walks but with training in the right parks she could be trained to be off-leash at beaches and parks. In the home if there is any sign of danger, she is an appropriately protective guard dog.
Millie prefers male dogs. but gets along with some females. We've noticed that she has shown a particular dislike of golden retrievers. (Go figure! Is it the blonde thing?). We think she might have been attacked by a large yellow dog in Mexico, so we are looking for a home where she will be the only dog. Like most dogs, she can have a prey drive so cats, gerbils, squirrels and small animals are probably not a good idea in the same home with Millie.
Millie is currently in Sonoma, California. Thoughtful shares to anyone you know who might be a good home and looking for a black lab mix would be nice.
We love Mille and are sad to have to rehome her.
