DESCRIPTION
Bergan is a big ole lug of a sweet Lab mix, around 6–7 years old. She is basically a professional cuddler with a serious appreciation for snacks.
Bergan is an easy dog to have around. She is house trained and crate trained. She does well left out at night also. She is the kind of girl who wants to be where her people are. She LOVES attention and has figured out a pretty adorable trick: when you stop petting her, she’ll gently hand you her paw as if to say, keep petting me!
This sweet girl is carrying a few extra pounds, so she is officially starting her weight loss journey. She’s a foodie, which may make her think this is a terrible idea, but we know getting some weight off will help her feel better. She has some stiffness in her back end that we suspect is at least partly related to her weight, so regular, gentle exercise and a healthy diet will be important for her.
Bergan recently met a toddler and did wonderfully. She was gentle, calm and even let the little one take her for a walk.
Bergan is dog friendly, but she definitely has a strong personality. She likes to be the boss and would do best as an only dog or with a submissive, easygoing canine friend who isn’t interested in challenging her for the crown. We have not introduced Bergan to cats yet.
Bergan is spayed, current on vaccines and prevention and is microchipped. She will also have a dental prior to adoption. Her adoption fee is $300. Adopters must live within 175 miles of the Quad Cities. All pets currently in the home must be routinely kept up to date on shots, prevention and fixed to be approved for adoption.
