Rooster #3 may have a few extra pounds and a silver-dusted muzzle, but beneath that handsome black lab coat is a heart full of pure, gentle love. At 10 years young and a solid 98 pounds, this big boy found himself at a local shelter through no fault of his own when his previous owner could no longer care for him. Fortunately, we knew instantly that Rooster’s story was far from over. He deserves a family who sees his worth and will cherish every single moment of his golden years. Rooster is the definition of a gentle giant. Mellow, affectionate, and deeply loyal, his absolute favorite place to be is right by your side. He gets along with other dogs and brings a calm, grounding presence wherever he goes. As a typical senior dog, Rooster isn't looking for high-octane adventures or endless games of fetch. His ideal day consists of soft dog beds, peaceful neighborhood strolls, and plenty of quality lounging time with his human companions. He does need a dedicated family willing to help him safely shed a few pounds to get to a healthy, comfortable weight so his joints stay happy and mobile. Rooster is simply looking for a home where he can relax, feel safe, and live out his final chapter wrapped in the comfort and appreciation he has always deserved.
