Rusty Wallace is back with Puppy Paws Rescue and ready to find the perfect forever home. His previous adopters absolutely adored him, but they discovered that Rusty becomes very excited around very young children and viewed them as his favorite playmates. Because of his enthusiasm and size, he is looking for a home with children 8 years and older or dog-savvy kids who can help him continue building good manners.

Born on December 8, 2025, Rusty weighs approximately 55 pounds. He is housebroken, neutered, up to date on vaccinations, on heartworm prevention, sits on command, and has excellent recall. He has already proven himself to be a smart, trainable companion.

Rusty is an intelligent, people-oriented dog who forms deep bonds with his family. Once he trusts you, he will happily become your shadow and want to be involved in everything you do. He thrives with consistency, structure, and clear expectations, and he learns quickly when training is positive and rewarding.

Rusty enjoys long walks, hiking adventures, interactive play, toys, and training games. He is highly food-motivated and loves having a job to do. He can become excited at times and may jump up, so continued training and redirection will help him continue developing into an exceptional companion.

Rusty would likely enjoy having another playful dog in the home to help burn off some of his puppy energy, but he could also thrive as an only dog with an active family committed to providing exercise and enrichment. He would make an excellent hiking partner, running buddy, or adventure companion.
