Meet Obsidian.

He’s only 2 years old. He’s beautiful. He’s goofy. He’s sweet. He’s everything you’d expect from a classic Lab—and somehow, he ended up alone and wandering the streets near Lee & Moss.

And the hardest part?
Nobody came for him.
We keep hoping someone would walk through the door and say, “That’s my dog. I’ve been looking everywhere for him.”
But no one has.
He doesn’t know why his family never came looking. He doesn’t understand why the people he may have loved aren’t there. He only knows that the life he once had is gone, and now he finds himself waiting for a stranger to decide that he belongs with them.

And that just feels incredibly unfair for a dog who is only two years old.

Because Obsidian is SO easy to love.

Dog friendly
Kid friendly
Walks wonderfully on a leash
Takes treats like a gentleman
Knows “sit”
And he SMILES.

He has that ridiculous, lovable Lab personality where the lights are on, but nobody is home.

He’s goofy. He’s happy. He’s affectionate. He’s just a really, really good dog.

His one request? No cats. And honestly, it’s not because he thinks he’s a tough guy. Cats scare the absolute daylights out of him.

But underneath that goofy smile is a dog who has been left wondering where his people went.

Stray dogs don’t get to understand abandonment. They just experience it.

They wait for footsteps that never come.
They watch the doors.
They hope every person walking by might be their person.
And eventually, someone has to make the choice to give them a new beginning.

For Obsidian, that day is coming.

He will be OFF STRAY HOLD and available for adoption on September 18th.

We don’t know why nobody came looking for this beautiful boy.

But we do know this:

Obsidian shouldn’t have to spend another night wondering if someone is coming back for him.

Maybe they aren’t.

Maybe the family he has been waiting for is actually you.
