Paging Dr. Beeper! We have an updated prognosis on everyone's favorite little doctor, and we're pleased to report that he remains one of the happiest puppies around.
Dr. Beeper originally came from a situation with far too many dogs and not nearly enough individual human attention. It didn't take long for Beeper to discover what he'd been missing, though, because this boy now thinks PEOPLE ARE AMAZING.
He absolutely adores attention. He wants pets. He wants cuddles. He wants you to tell him he's handsome. He wants to be involved in whatever you're doing. Basically, Dr. Beeper wakes up every morning absolutely thrilled that humans still exist.
Born in April 2026 and around 25lbs, he's growing beautifully, but there's still one little puppy feature he's working on...
His excitable tinkles.
Sometimes Dr. Beeper gets SO happy to see you that his bladder gets just as excited as the rest of him. He's still a baby and learning to control those happy little accidents, so his future family will need to be patient while he continues working on it.
Considering where this puppy started, though, we'll happily take a boy whose biggest problem is occasionally being too excited about being loved.
His updated medical chart reads:
Diagnosis: Chronic happiness with a severe case of love bug.
Minor complication: Excitement occasionally exceeds bladder capacity.
Recommended treatment: One forever home, patient humans, unlimited cuddles, and a lifetime prescription for affection.
Dr. Beeper is accepting new patients-although we're pretty sure you're the one who's going to fall in love.

Please note: Information to determine if you might be a match for one of our animals can only be found on our application.
*An inquiry, questions or introduction through Petfinder is NOT an application*
All known details about our animals are posted on their profile and updated daily. Other info will be discussed in detail with the foster during the application review process. Due to the high volume of introductions/questions received we ask you to submit an application (that application can be used for any dog with Take Paws Rescue).
The adoption fee for adult dogs covers age appropriate vaccinations, microchip, spay/neuter if not yet performed, heartworm test & appropriate heartworm treatment by the rescue's vet. All dogs in our care are also kept up-to-date on HW/Flea Prevention.
For more on this, or for additional information, including the adoption process and our adoption fee scale for all our adoptable pets (including an explanation about Benefactor Dogs), please see our FAQs page:

Any breed labels used by Take Paws Rescue, its employees/volunteers, or on vet records provided cannot be guaranteed. Breed labels are given based on information obtained during intake and/or best guesses based on appearance and/or temperament of the dogs and Take Paws Rescue gives no assurance to the accuracy of these labels. Labels are necessary for postings to many animal networking sites, such as our website, Chewy, Pet Finder, and others. These are in no way a guarantee. Additionally, exact age and potential size cannot be guaranteed.
***Take Paws Rescue, based in New Orleans, saves dogs from high-kill shelters across the South, owner surrenders, and discarded dogs with uncertain futures. All of our animals live in foster homes where they are socialized and well cared for. An application will be required to make sure it's the perfect match!
