DOG'S DESCRIPTION: Meet Sweet Lena! This precious little Bichon made the journey from Alabama in search of a fresh start and a family to call her own. While she's still learning that the world can be a safe and loving place, one thing is certain—Sweet Lena has so much love to give to the person willing to give her a chance. She is a gentle, sweet girl who can be shy at first. Lena will thrive in a patient, quieter home where she can blossom at her own pace. She would do especially well with another confident and welcoming dog (or two!) to help show her the ropes, build her confidence, and remind her that life is full of good things. Watching a shy dog discover joy and trust is one of life's greatest rewards, and Sweet Lena is ready to begin that journey with her forever family. With a little patience and a lot of love, she's sure to become a devoted and cherished companion. Your new pet will require a refresher in house-training. K-9 Lifesavers strongly recommends all new adopters enroll their new pet into obedience training. This provides for an easier transition into a new home, ensures the dog remains well socialized, and helps form a bond between the dog and the new family.

Adoption fees cover basic vetting, rabies (if puppy is old enough), distemper/parvo vaccinations, deworming, monthly heartworm prevention while in our care (if old enough), monthly flea/tick prevention while in our care, and transport costs. K-9 Lifesavers will also cover the cost of spay/neuter at our partner vet at 6 months of age or reimburse adopter for up to the amount of our partner vet cost should you choose to spay/neuter at your own vet.

Foster Program: Foster homes provide for the temporary care of a rescue until the dog is placed into a loving, forever home.
