Hi! I’m Lucy, located in Arkansas.

Lucy is a very sweet girl who loves to be where her people are. She has made herself right at home, on the sofa, in the bed, on the chair, wherever she wants. Her preference is either right next to you, or rolling over to have a belly rub. She plays with her toys, carrying them around or just chewing on a bone. Lucy is about 6 years old and housetrained in her foster home.

She enjoys being outside, barking at the squirrels and anything else she can find to bark at. She’s a good watch dog. She walks well on a leash and likes to go for walks.

She was accustomed to having food left available all day, but now with another dog in the house, she is learning to eat when I put down her bowl. It didn’t take her long to know when it’s treat time, and so far she eats any treat we give her (bacon pieces, milkbones, gourmet peanut butter bones, dental chews). Actually, she will eat her treat quickly and then “help” her foster brother eat his! She is a little overweight, but with careful attention to the amount she eats, and some exercise, she should lose a pound or two!

Her coat is more curly than her foster brother’s, but she is definitely a Bichon girl, very stubborn with selective hearing! She has no issues with getting a bath and being blow-dried, and she loves being brushed.

She has been around another Bichon and even a 75-pound dog that visited, and she was great with him. She has not been around a cat or small kids.

Lucy will require a home with a small, friendly resident dog already in place. Children in the home must be at least 10 years old. These requirements are not flexible, as they are essential to ensuring that Lucy transitions safely, adjusts successfully, and thrives in her new environment.
