Gracie is a very sweet, nine-year-old, 17-pound, female Bichon Frise looking for a loving guardian.
Gracie came to Friends of Petraits Rescue when her human mom moved to a memory care center.
She loves to go for walks, even picking the pace up to a slow jog.
Gracie is housebroken when kept on schedule, and quietly and easily crated. She goes right into the crate to wait for her meals.
In the home, shes a delight ... very sweet with my other dogs and fine with my cats, although she does chase bunnies and birds on her walks. As fantastic as she is with dogs and cats in the house, she is reactive to dogs and people on walks, so managing her behavior is important. Working with a trainer at any age in a dogs life is appropriate.
She loves to snuggle in dog beds or on your couch, and likes to sleep in bed with you, rolling over for belly rubs. Because shes a hypoallergenic breed, Gracie does need to be groomed every six weeks. Shes well-behaved at the groomer.
Gracie is very healthy, spayed, up-to-date on rabies, distemper, bordatella and leptospiros vaccines, fecal and heartworm-tested, micro-chipped and on monthly heartworm preventative. She even had bloodwork and a full dental cleaning on July 8th and had two teeth pulled.
If you are interested in meeting and possibly adopting Gracie, please fill out an adoption application at https://friendsofpetraits.com/dog-adoption-application/ and follow up by emailing friendsofpetraits@gmail.comto meet her. Her adoption fee of $500 helps cover her vet bill and benefits Friends of Petraits Rescue. She comes with everything you need to care for her: crate, bed, food, bowls, harness, leash, collar.
She is being fostered in Chicagos Andersonville neighborhood.
