Cricket - COMING SOON! fostered in Omaha - Beagle and Basset Hound Dog for Adoption in Overland Park, Kansas

Cricket!

This little fellow is 4-6 months old, weighs in at 20 lbs, is a bit scared of things right now, and such a sweetie! We know with love and kindness he will thrive and come out of his shell.

A very nice lady in South east Missouri found him and his golden colored sister (available soon) on Oct 2, running on a gravel road about a mile from her home. Dumped. So common in the area , and heartbreaking for these animals. One of their little group didnt make it, was hit by a car, but Cricket and Birdie were lucky and scooped up. She then reached out to us to ask for help and we were able to bring them into rescue with the help of foster homes.

He is settlining into his foster home well, and will be getting all vet needs met which will include neuter, shots, microchip, and will be available at the end of November.

you can apply at bassetandbeagle.org, his adoption fee is $400.

The Basset Hound is a unique and recognizable breed known for its long body, droopy ears, and soulful eyes. Originating from France, they were originally bred for hunting small game like rabbits due to their keen sense of smell and sturdy build. Despite their laid back and affectionate nature, Basset Hounds are also persistent and independent thinkers, which can make training a bit challenging. With their low energy levels and love for lounging, they make wonderful companion dogs for families seeking a loyal and easygoing pet.

The Beagle is a beloved breed known for its friendly nature, curious personality, and distinctive howl. These small to medium sized dogs are incredibly sociable and get along well with both humans and other pets. Beagles are curious and energetic, always eager to follow a scent with their incredible sense of smell, making them excellent hunting and tracking dogs. Their short coat is easy to maintain, and they are adaptable to various living environments, making them popular companions for families and individuals alike.
