Ruthie is the kind of puppy that would absolutely get voted “most likely to accidentally become everybody’s favorite” within the first twenty-four hours of arriving home. She’s got this sweet little black retriever face mixed with classic beagle charm, and the personality of somebody who has never once considered the possibility that a stranger could exist.
This little lab/beagle mix girl is smart, social, confident, and fully convinced life is supposed to be a group activity. Kids? Amazing. Other dogs? Incredible. New people? Best thing that’s happened to her all day. Ruthie walks through life like she’s collecting friends for a very wholesome little neighborhood softball team.
And this girl is FUNNY. Not in an over-the-top chaos gremlin way. More like she has the energy of a tiny optimistic camp counselor who thinks every situation can be improved by following somebody around enthusiastically. She looks like she would try to help you carry groceries and accidentally walk away proudly with a single paper towel roll.
Her mama is a beagle mix around 35–40 pounds, and Ruthie already has that lovable “good family dog” personality that makes people get weirdly attached way too fast. She’s playful without being overwhelming, affectionate without being clingy, and naturally easy to have around. She’s the kind of puppy who makes a house feel happier just by existing in it.
Ruthie absolutely LOVES other dogs, and we would especially love for her and her siblings to go into homes with another dog whenever possible because this litter genuinely thrives with companionship. Ruthie especially seems to enjoy having a little buddy nearby for wrestling matches, naps, backyard patrol duty, and emotionally processing household events together.
She’s also wonderful with children, friendly with strangers, good with cats, and overall just has one of those easygoing, adaptable personalities that fits naturally into family life. She’s not the type of puppy constantly trying to launch herself off the furniture like a caffeinated squirrel. Ruthie’s more like a happy little sidekick who just wants to be included in the daily routine.
Of course, she’s still a baby, so she’ll need all the normal puppy basics — potty training, leash training, and learning that mulch is not a light afternoon snack. But she’s eager to please, responds beautifully to gentle guidance, and already seems like the type of dog who genuinely wants to make her people happy.
You can already picture what life with Ruthie would feel like: another dog curled up beside her, little paws following you through the kitchen, somebody waiting excitedly at the door every time you come home, and a tiny best friend who somehow becomes part of every good memory without anybody even noticing when it happened.

The Truth About Rescue:
Every rescue pup is a work in progress — and that’s the beauty of it. None of them come wrapped in a bow, ready-made or mistake-free. They come with stories, quirks, and hearts that have seen a lot but still choose to trust again.
Adoption isn’t about perfection; it’s about presence. Showing up for them, every day, until they know they’re finally home. That’s when you’ll see them bloom — soft and steady — into the very best version of themselves. And somewhere along the way, you’ll realize they were never the only one being rescued.

Once we have received your application, we will review and reach out to set-up an interview with one of our volunteers! If you have additional questions, please email us at SaintMuttsInquiries@gmail.com.
Note: As with all of our rescues, we recommend homes with children 10 years and over to ensure the best fit for both the pets and families involved.
