Nixie - Australian Shepherd Dog for Adoption in Troy, Illinois

When asked her very favorite thing in the whole world, Nixie couldn't decide. She loves to be outside exploring the yard. But she also loves playing with balls and soft toys. She equally loves playing games and hanging with her favorite people. She's just a very well-rounded puppy with lots of interests!

Nixie is an Australian shepherd mix with a medium amount of energy. She's not over the top with enthusiasm but she has bursts of excitement, then likes to chill. She's smart and is working on “come” and “sit.” Because she is deaf, Nixie is learning to respond to hand signals. She's particularly excited about the treats.

Nixie is still a baby, but she's working on potty training and crate training. She'd prefer a home where someone is around much of the day and willing to spend time teaching her all the important and fun things. She'd love another friendly dog friend, but she would be fine as the only pup in the house.

Nixie would do best with a physical, fenced yard. It would be great if her new person had herding dog experience. Nixie is a happy little pup who loves everything and everyone. She enjoys cuddling at the end of the busy day and just wants a lap of her own.
