Katara - Australian Shepherd Dog for Adoption in Troy, Illinois

Katara is the perfect puppy package. She's young enough that she still has fun energy and is eager to learn. But she's old enough that she's potty trained and is great in her crate. This 9-month old Australian shepherd loves to play with toys and be active. She is absolutely thrilled with chasing tennis balls, even though she isn't always sure she wants to bring them back! She has impressive speed and would likely excel at agility.

Katara is also quite the cuddle bug and loves snuggling with her person. She's fantastic with other dogs and really would like a friendly dog buddy.

Katara is deaf and is quickly learning hand signals. She already knows sit, come, and shake, and is eager to keep learning more.

Katara doesn't want to sit home all day by herself. She'd prefer a family where someone is home a lot. She requires a physical, fenced yard and she would really thrive with someone who has herding dog experience and understands smart, active breeds.

Katara is being fostered in the St. Louis area.
