Obie - Australian Shepherd Dog for Adoption in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan

Obie appears to be a purebred Australian Shepherd, just in a smaller package. Weighing in at only 32 lbs, this handsome little guy has quite the story.
Unfortunately, we know nothing about Obie's past as he was running loose in town and was so unsure of people that he had to be safely captured using a live trap.
Since arriving at the shelter, Obie has been making progress every single day. He's slowly learning to trust us and it's been wonderful watching his personality begin to emerge.
Obie keeps his kennel clean, which is always a great sign, and he's already showing interest in making some four-legged friends. He has been spotted play bowing to other dogs through the fence, which is an encouraging sign.
Sometimes the dogs who take a little longer to trust are the ones who make the biggest impression on our hearts. Though he is still a work in progress we think there's a wonderful little dog just waiting to blossom with the right person. He'll just need someone patient and understanding who will give him the time and space to build confidence at his own pace.
If you are interested in meeting Obie, call 906-632-2519 for the quickest response to inquiries as messages through social media and Petfinder are not always to be closely monitored.
