DESCRIPTION
Meet Oakley:
Our 1 year old, 50 pound Australian Shepherd mix looking for a foster or adopter who truly understands and LOVES herding and working dogs.
Oakley is smart, driven, loyal, and active. He can be challenging, but he is absolutely not a bad dog. He does beautifully with someone who gives him structure, leadership, clear boundaries, and an outlet for all that working dog energy.
His dream person is someone active who wants a dog to hike, run, explore, train, and adventure with. Someone who understands that a high drive herding dog needs both physical exercise AND mental stimulation. He wants a job, he wants direction, and he thrives when someone is confident enough to be the boss.
Oakley has already shown us how capable he is with the right handling, and we know he can build that same relationship with someone else. He doesnt need to be turned into a couch potato. He needs someone who appreciates the dog he was bred to be.
If you love Australian Shepherds, Shepherds, working breeds, or high drive herding dogs and want a dog to work, train, hike, run, and adventure alongside you, Oakley could be an incredible match.
He needs someone committed, active, confident, and ready to give a working dog the life and outlet he was made for.
Hes currently being boarded in palmdale, CA but is available for fostering or adoption anywhere in the USA for someone experienced
