BRUTUS - Australian Shepherd and Mixed Breed Dog for Adoption in Richmond, California
BRUTUS
Australian Shepherd, Mixed Breed
🇺🇸
Richmond, California
October 24th
male, medium, baby
DESCRIPTION
Sweet natured little youngster. Affectionate, wide-eyed and wondering why he is all alone in a kennel! He was a singleton brought into a big, noisy, high-kill shelter, and we scooped him up and out of there, but he is still all alone. That said he will be a fairly active pup and needs a true commitment from his adopters.
Puppies are a lot of work, they need training and socialization, consistency, kindness and patience! Fun yes, but time put in when they are young is very important. Brutus will want fun and adventures, off-leash training, park play and interaction with other dogs, and engagement with other critters and people of all ages, so he has a well rounded personality, and is not afraid out in the world. Training is super important for a puppy to grow up and be a social and appropriate dog out in the world.
If you are ready... Brutus is too!
ABOUT: AUSTRALIAN SHEPHERD DOG BREED
The Australian Shepherd is a highly intelligent and energetic herding dog known for its loyalty and work ethic. Originating in the United States, despite its name, this breed is prized for its agility, trainability, and versatility in various dog sports and activities. Australian Shepherds have a distinctive medium length coat that comes in different colors, often with unique merle patterns. With proper training, socialization, and exercise, these dogs make excellent companions for active families and individuals seeking a devoted and playful four legged friend.
The mixed breed dogs, often referred to as mutts, are a diverse and unique group with a blend of different characteristics from various purebred dog breeds. These dogs come from a mixture of lineages, resulting in a wide range of sizes, coat types, and temperaments. While each mixed breed dog is distinct in its own right, they are known for their resilience, adaptability, and often have fewer health issues compared to purebred dogs due to their genetic diversity. Mixed breed dogs make wonderful companions for families looking for a loyal and one-of-a-kind pet.
