Penelope is a wonderful year old Pure Australian Shepherd. She has so much love to give. She is affectionate, playful, and absolutely loves her people. She currently lives with a 13-year-old dog and loves her canine companion. Penny is also great with people and happily greets everyone she meets at the dog park.

Penny is an awesome walking companion and enjoys getting out and being active. When she’s had plenty of exercise and attention, she is a happy, content girl. She also has a very sweet, cuddly side — she loves crawling up beside you, giving kisses, and being close to her person.

Penny was recently spayed, and she has healed beautifully. Her belly fur is still growing back.

Her current family loves her dearly and is not rehoming her because of anything Penny has done. Their work schedule requires long shifts, which means Penny spends too much time kenneled and simply isn’t getting the active lifestyle and attention she needs.

When Penny is bored or doesn’t get enough exercise, she can become destructive and has a definite chewing habit. She may chew on things she shouldn’t if she isn’t supervised or contained. With plenty of activity, exercise, and interaction, this behavior is much less of an issue. She also appears to have some separation anxiety, likely made worse by being alone for long periods.

Penny would love an active family who has the time to keep her busy, include her in their daily life, and give her plenty of exercise and companionship. In return, you’ll have a loving, affectionate girl who thinks cuddling and giving kisses are the best things ever!
