Reign - Australian Shepherd Dog for Adoption in Newport, Washington

Meet Reign, an extremely handsome Aussie dog, a diamond in the rough, a young lad just waiting for someone to take him in and teach him the ropes. Okay, enough with the cliches, Reign is about 2-years old. He weighs about 45-pounds. He's neutered and up to date on his vaccinations.

Reign came into rescue from Oklahoma where he was found wandering with another Aussie. He is calm and quiet. He has so far loved every person he's met and is good with other dogs. He is crate- and house-trained.

However, Reign knows no tricks. Not sit, down, shake, spin, kennel up, off, nothing. He's okay on a leash but you better watch him because he does that weave thing on walks in front of you, you know, the thing that'll trip you if you're not paying attention. At some point someone must have taught him not to try to knock you over when he jumps up because he does this kind of softly hover thing with his front feet barely touching you. All this means is you are adopting a sweet young dog who is a blank slate and doesn't have anything to unlearn. The sky is the limit for you to teach and him to learn.

We are still learning about Reign. We have not had him around cats or young children yet and will update as we expose him to more experiences. He is somewhat submissive and gives his belly when he seems to be unsure. Consistent loving care and training will help him build confidence. Reign is treat-motivated which will help with his progress. He is very gentle when he takes treats and is in general a very soft dog.
