Meet Smooch!

Smooch needs someone to see her...and she needs out of the shelter like yesterday.

There are some dogs who make themselves right at home in the shelter and then there are dogs like Smooch, whose gentle hearts just aren't meant for a chaotic place like this.

Smooch is a stunning 2 year old, 33lb Heeler mix with the prettiest unique light brindle coloring and the most soulful brown eyes.

She's sweet, affectionate, and absolutely loves her people. Give her a belly rub and you'll quickly see just how much she wants someone to give all her love to.

But right now, she's struggling.

The shelter environment has her incredibly stressed, and this sweet girl is doing her best to be brave.

She's shy and submissive, and she doesn't particularly enjoy being on leash. When she's scared, she's more likely to pancake herself right onto the floor than go anywhere.

She's also a bit of a flight risk, so she'll need someone who understands that keeping her safe while she settles in is especially important.

Once she trusts you, though? That's where the magic happens. She listens to commands, loves affection, and just wants to feel safe with someone she can call her own.

Smooch isn't looking for a perfection. She's looking for a patient person who will give her the time and security she needs to come out of her shell.

She's a fragile little soul in a place that's overwhelming her, and we would really, really love to see her get out of the shelter sooner rather than later.

Smooch is 2 years old, spayed, microchipped, up to date on age appropriate vaccines, heartworm tested negative, and kept on prevention here with us.

Our adoption fees includes the pets spay or neuter surgery, microchip, age appropriate vaccines, heartworm + flea + tick disease testing, fecal check, and any medical care needed while staying with us. All adoption fees can be found on our website.
