LOAF
Australian Cattle Dog Blue Heeler, Mixed Breed
🇺🇸
Stephenville, Texas
October 4th
male, medium, adult
DESCRIPTION
Loaf was originally found in the county after getting himself stuck in a chicken coop. He was adopted but was recently returned because he was not potty trained, so this sweet boy is once again looking for a family to call his own.
During his time in a home, we learned even more about Loaf. He is good with other dogs and got along great with the other dogs in the home. Having canine friends seems to help build his confidence, so he may really benefit from having a friendly dog in his new home.
Loaf can still be nervous around people, but he has gotten so much better since he first came to us! He will still need a patient, understanding family who will give him time to adjust, continue building his confidence, and work with him on potty training.
Loaf isn't a big fan of walking on a leash and would much rather be a homebody where he can feel safe and comfortable. Because of his history with poultry, he should not be placed in a home with chickens or other fowl.
Loaf is neutered, fully vaccinated, microchipped, and dewormed. He is heartworm negative and on prevention.
Loaf has already come such a long way. He just needs someone willing to give him the time, patience, and consistency he needs to keep making progress. If you have a soft spot for shy dogs and want to watch a deserving boy continue to come out of his shell, come meet Loaf!
ABOUT: AUSTRALIAN CATTLE DOG BLUE HEELER DOG BREED
The Australian Cattle Dog, also known as the Blue Heeler, is a hardworking and intelligent breed originally developed in Australia for herding cattle. Renowned for their endurance and agility, these medium sized dogs have a striking blue or red speckled coat and alert, curious expression. With a strong herding instinct and boundless energy, they require mental stimulation and physical activity to thrive. Blue Heelers are loyal, protective, and make excellent companions for active individuals or families willing to provide the engagement and exercise they need.
The mixed breed dogs, often referred to as mutts, are a diverse and unique group with a blend of different characteristics from various purebred dog breeds. These dogs come from a mixture of lineages, resulting in a wide range of sizes, coat types, and temperaments. While each mixed breed dog is distinct in its own right, they are known for their resilience, adaptability, and often have fewer health issues compared to purebred dogs due to their genetic diversity. Mixed breed dogs make wonderful companions for families looking for a loyal and one-of-a-kind pet.
