Banjo and Big Mama showed up one quiet evening up the road from my house like they had been searching for someone to notice them. Banjo, a handsome blue heeler with endless energy and a heart full of loyalty, hopped right into my lap ready to work, play, and make everyone around him smile. Big Mama, his sweet pittie mix sidekick, was the exact opposite — calm, gentle, and perfectly content curled up on the couch under a blanket like she’d been waiting her whole life for movie nights and pup cups. Banjo had a collar but no name tag, you can see on his collar where he appeared to have had a name plate and his had been ripped off; mama did not have a collar. After advertising locally searching for an owner or information several days later there is still silence and no out reach…
Even after being dumped, neither of them lost their good manners. They already knew basic commands, appeared to be potty trained, and carried themselves like dogs who only wanted love in return for the love they gave so freely. Banjo spends his days hoping for adventure and someone special to follow everywhere, while Big Mama dreams of soft blankets, belly rubs, and a warm place beside her person.
Together, they are proof that even abandoned dogs can still trust, still love, and still wag their tails like they’ve never known heartbreak at all.
