SPARKY - Anatolian Shepherd and Mixed Breed Dog for Adoption in Fairbanks, Alaska

Sparky (A143505) is a 2-year-old Caucasian shepherd who weighed over 100 lbs at intake! 09/19/26 This beautiful, big girl is Sparky! Sparky was brought to the shelter due to a divorce leading to some major life changes. While Caucasian shepherds are usually known to be aloof, Sparky has been well-socialized and was described as being incredibly sweet, especially with kids! Sparky was said to be housebroken and kennel trained. She knows some basic commands such as paw to give her paw and shake for when she is covered in snow and needs to shake it off before coming in the house! Sparky was said to do okay with other dogs after proper, slow introductions. She will not be the kind of dog you can throw into the car with your other dog in the shelter parking lot. She was said to not mind cats though. Please make sure any and all introductions are done in a slow and controlled manner to allow for the best possible outcome. Sparky previously lived in on-base housing and was said to jump the 4-ft fences there. She is approximately 4-ft tall herself, so it likely wasn't that hard for her. Caution should be taken when leaving her outside even within a 6-ft fence. Sparky was described as being outgoing, friendly and affectionate. She has been known to jump on people and to dig.
