Bernie is about 3 years old, and his story has come full circle. He was originally in rescue as a puppy and adopted into what they hoped would be his forever home. Recently, we were heartbroken to see him being given away for free on Facebook — so the original foster immediately stepped in and brought him back where he belongs.

Bernie deserves so much better than that, and we are committed to making sure his next home truly is forever.

The good news? Bernie is a GREAT dog. He loves kids and is happiest when he's part of the family action. Whether it's hanging out in the yard, lounging inside, or soaking up attention, Bernie is all about his people.

He can be dog selective, so proper introductions are important, and he may do best as the only dog in the home or with a compatible canine friend. Were happy to talk through that with you!

Please be advised that our volunteers are busy rescuing, transporting, and caring for our animals. We will respond to your application as soon as possible. Upon review of your application, the rescue in AL will contact you, so you can ask any specific questions that you may have.

NOTE: All Paws of Dixie animals are located in AL foster homes.

If there is more than one decision maker in the home, all of them should be in agreement.

They thrive on human interaction and are eager to please their owners.
