Duke - American Staffordshire Terrier Dog for Adoption in Stanton, Kentucky

Duke is described as an AMAZING all round super friendly boy and a friend to all folks and children! He is very good with other dogs, though he doesn't want to share his food with other dogs. He hasn't been around cats much, but he seemed unaffected with a walk through the caged cat room. He meets new folks with ease and the biggest smile. He is an adult boy of about 65 lbs.

Duke is a surrender due to landlord restrictions. He lived with children and was inside kept. He is completely housebroken and very much enjoys the outdoors. He recently escaped his yard and spent a very hot day inside the local Dollar General store where the air conditioning was much to his liking and the extra bonus was meeting lots of people and getting lots of attention. He can speak and tell you he loves you he’s a wonderful dog he sits and plays fetch.

We are a rural shelter with high intakes. As a result, the shelter dogs are not guaranteed safety. We do our best but, we need help.

ADOPTION FEES APPLY- Dogs $175- $200 Cats $100. (We are not set up for credit or debit payments.)

Families with young children are required to have a fenced yard to prevent accidental escape of pets.

The shelter is open Monday thru Friday from 9 - 3 p.m. except Thursdays (closed). Appointments are recommended. Saturday hours normally 10 - noon or by appt.

After hours appts can be arranged with advance notice and an approved application. We want to accommodate!

We are glad to answer any questions. Adoption rates include a spay or neuter, vaccines, & deworming. Surgeries are mandatory!
