Someone named this baby after a villain and she showed up looking like a complete and total sweetheart. The name stays though, because honestly it is perfect for her.

Maleficent is a three month old AmStaff mix with a blocky little head, soft eyes, and the kind of wiggly, open hearted energy that makes everyone around her immediately relax. She is already here in Maine, settled into foster life, and doing beautifully with kids, other dogs, and cats. She came into this world with a dramatic name and promptly proved everyone wrong in the best possible way.

She is playful and warm and the kind of puppy who leans into you like she has always known you. There is nothing complicated about Maleficent. She just wants to love and be loved, and she is very, very good at both.

The villain era is officially over. Her forever era is just getting started.
