Meet Kane!
Adoption Fee: $495
This handsome 70lb goof is ready for his family! Kane came to us after he had been hit by car, sustained a broken leg and his owner chose not to provide medical care. Kane was no longer useful to him if he could not stand to breed.
Kane had his fractured leg repaired by Dr Nesser and team at Blue Pearl and he is now cleared to be an active boy!
Kane is about a year of age and would do best with an active family. Kane greets everyone (people and animals) with a smile and a wag. Kane has met dogs of all sizes and is fantastic with every dog he has met both at home and in public. Kane has also been around people of all ages and is wonderful with everyone. Kane lives in a house with cats and does well with them but he would probably be a lot for a nervous or anxious cat as he wants to play with anything that has four legs. Kane is a very high energy dog and his style of play is go go go non stop. He is also one of those dogs that really does not know his size and plays and cuddles thinking he is a 10lb pup.
While Kane loves playing he is also an excellent sleeper! He will sleep 12+ hours if you let him as long as he has a person or another dog to cuddle up next to in a bed. Kane walks fairly well on a leash. Kane is completely house trained to his foster home which does have a dog door. He knows basic manners like sit and stay.
Kane will do best in a home without small children because as mentioned above he really is not fully self aware when it comes to his size. Kane is not a fan of a crate as he had to spend several weeks in one while he was recovering from his surgery. Kane rides very well in the car.
Here are the basics of how adoption from Palmetto Paws works. Please READ IN FULL PRIOR to completing an application. Most of your questions are answered here. -Completing an application does not guarantee an adoption.
-Please DO NOT complete an application if you are not ready to adopt immediately- we only consider applications for those applicants ready and available on the Saturday of the week the application is submitted.
-All applications submitted receive an auto response detailing the process as well as the same details here.
-Dogs reside in private foster homes. We do not host events and there is no opportunity to view multiple dogs.
-We take many things into consideration when reviewing applications. -The age to be considered for adoption is 25.
- As we receive many applications for our pups we will only be in touch with the selected applicant to arrange a meet/potential adoption. -The question regarding heartworm disease must be answered in full. We feel all adopters should be knowledgeable about heartworm disease and the basics can be found online if you are unfamiliar with it. All current household pets must be up to date on vaccines, preventives and be spayed/neutered for adoption consideration. -We will not process applications that are not for a specific dog listed on our Petfinder site.
-We do not process and "hold" applications. We do not ship dogs and we do not arrange transports. All adopters must be present to complete the adoption. -We do consider out of state applicants as long as the applicant is willing to come to Charleston to complete the adoption. If an adopter is approved we do a meet and greet with a specific dog or pup. If at the meet we all agree its a good match, then the adoption takes place at that time. Their is no opportunity to meet and adopt at a later date. -Please keep in mind that we do our best to make an educated guess as to the breeds of our rescued pets. In rescue we rarely see the parents of the puppies, and even when we do, they are usually mixed breeds as well. We will never promise a particular breed or adult size. We do our best to put all info we have in the bio. -We will not respond to inquires regarding information that is already detailed in the bio.
-Adoptable pets are spayed/neutered (unless the rescue Veterinarian deems the pup/dog will need to be adopted on a SN contract), have age appropriate vaccines, are current on hw and flea preventatives and are microchipped. All adopters are provided with a medical summary, a new collar and leash, a few toys and chews, food to get started, an opportunity to go over basic training/pet care and help shopping for supplies if needed.
-If interested in adoption please submit an application! The application is below- please complete in full as incomplete applications are not considered:
