Meet Dobbie, a sweet and snuggly Texas pup who is looking for the family he can call his own.
Dobbie loves his early mornings and evenings in the shade, especially when he can be close to his people or hanging out with his dog friends. He's curious, affectionate, and has a gentle personality that draws everyone in.
Dobbie is currently in a busy, dog-friendly foster home with five other dogs, ranging from seniors to younger pups. He does wonderfully with everyone. He respects the older dogs, plays appropriately with the younger ones, and does a great job reading and responding to other dogs' cues. He would be a wonderful companion for a family with another friendly dog.
Like any puppy, Dobbie is still learning. He's working on potty training, can use a doggie door, and is learning his basic manners like sit and stay. He responds well to positive reinforcement, routine, and plenty of encouragement.
Dobbie's forever family should understand that puppies need patience, training, and continued socialization. More than anything, he needs someone who will give him the time and guidance to grow into the wonderful dog he is meant to be.

Dobbie is from Texas. They arrive in Minnesota on 8/22/2026 and will need to be picked up from the Ruff Start Rescue office in Princeton, MN between the hours of 9am and noon. Please plan for their arrival accordingly as we cannot accommodate pickups outside of this time frame. Since they haven't arrived yet, they are available exclusively through Ruff Start's Foster to Adopt (FTA) Program. Visit our Foster to Adopt Program page to learn more. Once they get to Minnesota, they might require further veterinary care. Ruff Start's veterinary suite is located in Princeton, MN, and, as the foster, you will be required to transport your dog to and from these vetting appointments.
