Max is still learning that the world can be safe. When he first arrived, he was terrifiedflinching at movement and trying to make himself invisible. Now, with time and patience, hes starting to come out of his shell. He leans into pets, follows his person around, and will even fall asleep while being gently loved on.
Max isnt confident yet, and he needs a quiet, low-traffic home where life is predictable and calm so he can continue to build trust. A fenced yard and someone who is home often are important for him. He's very gentle, dog- and cat-friendly (once they have earned his trust), potty trained, and low energy but still very much figuring things out.
He didn't get the chance to feel safe before, so he's looking for someone willing to go slow and meet him where he is. In return, you'll get a deeply sweet, sensitive dog who just wants to feel secure.
