When Star first arrived at the shelter, she was completely shut down and afraid of the world around her. But in foster care, she has blossomed into a happy, affectionate girl who just wants to be loved and included in whatever her people are doing.

Star is house trained, crate trained, and settles beautifully when left alone. She enjoys relaxing with some music, chewing on her favorite bone, and splooting dramatically across the floor after a fun day. She’s a true Velcro dog who loves being close to her person, whether that means cuddling on the couch, going for a car ride, or joining you on a walk. The second she sees the leash come out, her whole body lights up with excitement.

She absolutely adores other dogs and would thrive in an active home with playful canine companions. One of her favorite games is “I’m going to catch you,” where she bounces around happily trying to entice everyone into playtime. She’s happiest when she’s with her people, playing with friends, or simply soaking up chest scratches and affection.

Star walks nicely on leash, does well with structure, and continues to gain confidence meeting new people. She can get excited and jump when she’s happy, but she’s learning quickly and is eager to please. She’s very food motivated, incredibly loving, and sensitive enough that she worries if she thinks you’re upset with her.

She has done well with kids, dogs, and even seems okay with cats.
